Wedding Seating Chart Ideas: Display & Escort Card Inspiration

The seating chart your guests see at the entrance is part decor, part wayfinding. Here are display ideas that look beautiful and still get everyone to the right seat — plus how to keep the underlying plan in order.

Display styles

• Mirror or acrylic sign: names hand-lettered on a mirror or clear acrylic panel — elegant and endlessly reusable as decor.
• Escort cards: individual cards, one per guest, often doubling as favors (tags on plants, keys, wine corks).
• Framed chart: a printed chart in a large frame on an easel — the classic, and the easiest to produce from a planner.
• Themed objects: luggage tags for a travel theme, ribbons on a board, place cards tucked into a citrus or seashell.

Alphabetical, not by table

However pretty the display, list guests alphabetically by name with their table beside them — not grouped by table. Guests know their own name, not their table number, so alphabetical is far faster and prevents a crowd forming at the entrance.
